Up to $1M to develop Experience Development Strategies for nature based tourism experiences.
TRC Tourism is a leading international tourism and recreation consulting business with offices in New Zealand and Australia. We have been in business over 25 years. Our services are provided throughout the Asia Pacific regions including Australia and New Zealand. We also work in Latin America.
The Australia’s National Landscapes project has been developed through the Strategic Tourism Investment Grants program. The National Landscapes (NL) program is a partnership between Parks Australia and Tourism Australia that aims to achieve conservation, social and economic outcomes for Australia and its regions via the promotion of nature based tourism experiences to the global Experience Seeker tourism market. There are currently 16 National Landscapes around Australia. Each Landscape must form a strategic framework for planning, regional tourism development, and marketing. Part of this process is the development of an Experience Development Strategy (EDS).
The EDS is a tool for focused destination management planning and includes a new or improved implementation plan for products; sustainability initiatives; business opportunities; partnerships; facilities; services; information; access; communication; marketing; visitor management and infrastructure.
Grant applications are invited for the delivery of:
The organisation chosen to deliver the project will be responsible for ensuring that the project continues after the Strategic Tourism Investment Grant’s funding period—either under their own management or by establishing other suitable ongoing governance arrangements. Grant applications to deliver the Australia’s National Landscapes project close at 5.00pm on 30 May 2012.
The project is expected to commence in June 2012 and be completed no later than December 2013. The successful applicant will need to be prepared to enter into a funding agreement with the Commonwealth within two weeks of being advised that they are the preferred applicant; and are advised to consider the draft funding agreement as part of the application process.
Up to $1,000,000 (excl GST) will be available to the successful applicant (the Grantee) to deliver the two streams of this project. Applicants will be required to demonstrate matching cash is available.
