Background

The Automotive New Markets Program is a $30 million competitive merit‑based grants program that is jointly funded by the Australian Government (as one element of the Automotive New Markets Initiative under A New Car Plan for a Greener Future) and the Victorian Government. The Program is intended to run for four years, commencing in 2012‑13.

 

Objective

The object of the Automotive New Markets Program is to assist Australian automotive supply chain companies broaden their customer and product base, both domestically and internationally.

 

Funding

Up to $1 million is available and organisations must provide matched funding.

 

Eligible Applicant

To be eligible to apply for an Automotive New Markets Program grant, an applicant must:

  • be an Australian automotive supply chain company that is incorporated in Australia
  • be an Australian producer of automotive components, an Australian producer of automotive machine tools or automotive tooling, or an Australian provider of automotive services
  • supply an original equipment manufacturer

 

Eligible Activities

A project under the Automotive New Markets Program must involve one or more of the following:

  • early‑stage commercialisation activities
  • improving employee capabilities
  • pre‑production development activities
  • proof‑of‑concept activities
  • research and development activities
  • re‑tooling activities

 

Expert Assistance

Writing a good quality grant application is a critical element in the application process. An application needs to be well thought through, written concisely, have clear objectives and purpose, and show clear links to the objectives of the grant guidelines.

The grant application must answer all questions, provide all required information and respond to the merit criteria. It should also reflect your organisation’s business strategy.

Timing

Applications for Round 2 of the ANMP must be submitted by 19 April 2013.

APPLICATIONS CLOSE 19 APRIL 2013 for the Automotive New Markets Program

Only one application can be submitted per round.

Applicants must use the ANMP Smart Form application form or the ANMP Word application form available at www.innovation.gov.au/anmp. If you are experiencing any difficulties with the forms, please contact anmp@innovation.gov.au.

Please note there was an error in the ANMP Smart From application form and ANMP Word application form referring to the provision of audited financial statements as mandatory attachments. This should only have referred to the provision of financial statements. Provision of financial statements will be accepted as the mandatory attachment.

Applications must submitted by 11.59 PM on 19 April 2013 (Australian Eastern Standard Time). After this time, the ANMP Smart Form application form will expire and will not be available for download and/or submission. ANMP Word application forms must also be submitted electronically by 11.59 PM on 19 April 2013 (Australian Eastern Standard Time) to anmp@innovation.gov.au.

The Automotive New Markets Initiative (ANMI) is a $35 million initiative that is assisting the automotive industry develop new business opportunities domestically and internationally. It has three key elements:

·         Automotive New Markets Program

·         Business Capability Support Program

·         Automotive Envoy and Automotive Supplier Advocate
