Disability ACT 2015 I-Day Grants

 

Overview

Disability ACT I-Day Grants held on 3 December each year. It is a United Nations sanctioned day that aims to promote awareness and understanding of disability issues and encourage support for the dignity, rights and well-being of people with disability.

 

Objectives

Disability ACT I-Day Grants aims to bring together people with disability, community organisations, businesses, individuals and all levels of government. I-Day unites people in the celebration and acknowledgement of the contributions, skills and achievements of people with disability. It also seeks to increase awareness of the benefits of integration of people with disability in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.

 

Funding

Total funding of $20,000 (GST exclusive) is available in the 2015 round.

Individuals and organisations may apply for a grant up to $5,000 (GST exclusive) to be used for a project or initiative in the 2015-2016 financial year. Grants are one-off for the programs/services specified and are not intended as a recurring funding source.

 

Eligible Projects

Projects, activities or initiatives must demonstrate how they will address one or more of the following five (5) priorities:

  • Create inclusive opportunities for people with disability in the Canberra community.
  • Showcase the skills, abilities, contributions and achievements of people with disability.
  • Raise awareness and understanding of disability issues.
  • Provide opportunities for people with and without disability to come together, share ideas and network.
  • Build sustainable options for people with disability to connect with their communities.

 

Eligible Applicants

Only organisations that meet all the following eligibility requirements may apply:

  • be a non-government, incorporated entity that is not-for-profit;
  • have no overdue reporting obligations for any previous ACT Government grant including: evaluations, acquittal reports and audited financial statements;
  • provide a event/program which will be located primarily in the ACT and primarily for the benefit of ACT residents; and
  • have not received funding from another source to deliver or provide the same or similar event/program.

Organisations that are not incorporated must be auspiced by an incorporated entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN). Only one (1) application per eligible organisation is allowed.

  • provide proof of ACT residency;
  • provide a event/program which will be located primarily in the ACT and primarily for the benefit of ACT residents;

  • have not received funding from another source to deliver or provide the same or similar event/program.

Only one (1) application per person is allowed.
