Innovation Interchange for Water

Up to 120 hours of commercialisation and export assistance for water companies.

 

Background

The Innovation Interchange is an initiative designed to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) take advantage of opportunities within the domestic and international water sector in fields including drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, irrigation and industrial water.

Global technical consulting firm GHD is delivering the Innovation Interchange with the support of the Victorian Government.

Innovation Interchange Objectives

The objective of the Innovation Interchange is to drive business growth, innovation and export opportunities by matching the capabilities of Victorian SMEs to the emerging technology needs of a broad range of Infrastructure Managers operating within the global water sector.

A central component of the Innovation Interchange will be an interactive web portal accessible to eligible SMEs that will facilitate the communication of Infrastructure Manager’s needs and provide connections and partnerships across geographic boundaries in regions including Australia, New Zealand, and North America.

Assistance Provided

In addition to providing SME access to aggregated Infrastructure Manager’s challenges and connection opportunities via the Innovation Interchange web portal, GHD is offering mentoring and partnering services free of charge to selected SMEs in 2012.

 GHD’s 2012 Partnering Program includes:

  • Provision of 120 hours of advisory services
  • Advice tailored to the specific needs of selected SME Technology Providers from GHD staff and/or affiliated Commercialisation Service Providers
  • Personal introductions to Infrastructure Managers and Associates within GHD’s regions of operation to assist successful commercialisation

GHD’s 2012 Mentoring Program includes:

  • Provision of 24 hours of advisory services
  • Advice tailored to the specific needs of selected SME Technology Providers from GHD staff and/or affiliated Commercialisation Service Providers

SME Technology Providers will also be able to readily access Associate members who will have the specialist skills, services and products to assist deliver solutions.

 

Eligibility Requirements, Registration and Application Details

To be eligible to register to participate in the Innovation Interchange and apply for the Mentoring and Partnering Programs, applicants must be a registered company with operations in Victoria and have less than 200 employees and less than AU $50 million annual revenue.
