Up to $100,000 is available to support projects that improve the lives of older people living in NSW.
Overview
The Liveable Communities Grants Program offers $1 million in funding per year for 4 years for projects that improve the lives of older people living in NSW.
The NSW Government created the Liveable Communities Grants to capture the energy of Australian innovators and focus it on defining what it will mean to age well in the 21st century.
Objectives
The Liveable Communities Grants Program seeks to support creative initiatives that make it easier for older people to live active, independent, healthy lives and access their community freely and safely. It provides opportunities for individuals and organisations to explore new possibilities and improve outcomes for older people.
Funding
Grants are available under two categories:
- Small grants: For ideas at an early stage of their life cycle.
- Large grants: For more developed projects that can show strong outcomes for the older people, people with disability or carers and demonstrate ongoing viability.
Grants of up to $100,000 are available.
Eligible Projects
The Liveable Communities Grants Program is looking for ideas to create more liveable communities for older people and want to support a range of ideas for new, and improved programs, platforms and ventures that will help older people to live, learn, care, share, contribute and connect. While the focus is on ideas that help older people, the Liveable Communities Grants also offers funding for ideas that support people with disability and carers as well, to help to build liveable communities for all.
Ideas will need to address one (or more) of the following priority areas:
- Helping people stay healthy
- Helping people stay connected
- Helping people work or contribute
- Helping people live where they want to
To attract a range of innovative ideas, the grants program will fund projects at a range of stages of development.
Smaller grants may be offered to fund ideas at an early stage of their life cycle. Larger grants may be offered for more developed projects that can show strong outcomes for the older people, people with disability or carers and demonstrate ongoing viability.
