Up to $13,000 is available from Materials Efficiency Grants to help businesses significantly improve materials efficiency.
Boosting Business Productivity Materials Efficiency Grants
The Boosting Business Productivity Materials Efficiency Grants program is open to manufacturing businesses that have the potential to significantly improve materials efficiency.
The $6.1 million Boosting Business Productivity program supports businesses to access expert advice and support needed to cut energy and materials costs, reduce greenhouse emissions, and improve energy productivity. The program includes grants for businesses, a sustainable finance service, and various training, events, and information resources.
Australian Bureau of Statistics data suggests that material and water costs for businesses range from 10% to more than 50% or an average more than 30% of business revenue.
Grants of up to $13,000 per business are available.
- Up to $10,000 is available for expert advice from a materials efficiency assessor (consultant). This is offered on a matched funding basis, i.e. the grant covers 50% of the cost, capped at $10,000, to engage an assessor to assist your business to tackle the root cause of the waste problem, understand the ‘true cost of waste’, and develop a business case for investing in cost-effective solutions.
- Up to $3,000 is available as an ‘implementation bonus’ to put in place materials efficiency solutions.
Funding is available to manufacturers looking to find materials efficiency solutions to their waste problems, which will result in more efficient use of materials and less waste sent to landfill.
The assessor will work with the business to tackle the root cause of the waste problem, understand the ‘true cost of waste’ and develop a business case for investing in cost-effective solutions.
As this is a non-competitive program, a Business Productivity team adviser is available to guide you through the application process.
Applications close 28 September 2018.
