Up to $70,000 is available to enhance the quality of life for children with life-limiting medical conditions or projects that empower people to overcome extraordinary adverse circumstances.
Newman’s Own Foundation is a private, US-based independent foundation established in 2005 by the late actor and humanitarian, Paul Newman. The Foundation continues Paul’s commitment to making the world a better place by donating all profits and royalties earned from the sale of Newman’s Own products to charity. To date over $USD 370 million has been donated to thousands of charities around the world with over $19 million to Australian and New Zealand charities.
This year the Foundation is providing $USD1 million to Australian charities for projects that focus on the following two priority areas:
- Children with Life-Limiting Conditions – projects that enhance the quality of life for children with life-limiting medical conditions, and/or for whom the experience of childhood has been disrupted by circumstances beyond their control.
- Empowerment – projects that empower people to overcome extraordinary adverse circumstances, and/or provide equal access to human rights and contribute to the development of a civil society.
Eligible charities with a specific project in either of these two areas are invited to apply for individual grants of up to $75,000.
Applications will close at 5pm on Friday 24 May 2013.
Writing a good quality grant application is a critical element in the application process. An application needs to be well thought through, written concisely, have clear objectives and purpose, and show clear links to the objectives of the grant guidelines.
The grant application must answer all questions, provide all required information and respond to the merit criteria. It should also reflect your organisation’s business strategy.
Writing a good application takes time and effort, and requires particular writing skills.
