What Is the On Farm Connectivity Program?

The On Farm Connectivity Program offers up to a $30,000 rebate for digital farming technology to eligible Primary Producers, enhancing connectivity and productivity.


Part of the Better Connectivity for Rural and Regional Australia Plan, this initiative aims to leverage digital solutions for agricultural growth and safety.


The objectives of the On Farm Connectivity Program are to:

  • Enhance digital connectivity in farming
  • Support the adoption of advanced agribusiness solutions
  • Foster sectoral growth and competitiveness
  • Offset equipment costs for Primary Producers


Eligible Entities

Applicants for the On Farm Connectivity Program grant must meet the following criteria to be eligible under the program:

  • Pre-approved Equipment Suppliers providing connectivity solutions to Primary Producers
  • Primary Producers with specific income criteria and undertaking eligible primary production activities


Eligible Expenditure

The eligible expenditure for the On Farm Connectivity Program are:

  • Supplying digital farming technology and connectivity solutions to primary producers.
  • Installation of eligible equipment and technology on farms.
  • Training for primary producers in the use of the supplied equipment.
  • Subscriptions supporting the operation of approved equipment items for up to 12 months.
  • Delivery and installation costs of the equipment.
  • Contingency costs to accommodate changes in equipment prices or installation needs.


Eligible Equipment Suppliers can access rebates from $3,000 to $30,000, covering up to 50% of digital farming technology costs for Primary Producers through the On Farm Connectivity Program.


Eligible Activities

  • assist Primary Producers to take advantage of agribusiness solutions to boost productivity and improve safety 
  • supply eligible connectivity solutions and associated eligible equipment  
  • sell, install and deliver eligible connectivity solutions and associated eligible equipment to the eligible Primary Producer at fifty per cent of the purchase price up to $60,000 (Primary Producers may spend more than $60,000, and there is no limit to the amount they may spend, however the rebate will not exceed $30,000) 
  • have at least $6,000 (GST exclusive) in total eligible expenditure

  • Confirm eligibility as an Equipment Supplier with an ABN.
  • Showcase your ability to supply approved digital farming technologies.
  • Demonstrate a direct benefit to primary producers’ productivity and safety.
  • Offer solutions that enhance digital connectivity and farming technology usage.
  • Align your offerings with the program’s objectives for agricultural sector growth.
  • Ensure your technology solutions are ready for delivery within 60 days.
  • Provide evidence of successful previous installations or customer satisfaction.
  • Highlight any unique features or competitive advantages of your technology.
  • Prepare a detailed application showcasing your solution’s impact on farming operations.
  • Plan for post-sale support and training to maximise technology adoption and effectiveness.


The closing date for the On Farm Connectivity Program 31 May 2024 or until funds are depleted.
