Up to $200,000 is available from Pick My Project to fund local projects or project ideas that improve community and bring people together.
Pick My Project
Pick My Project is a community grants initiative, with $30M available to fund local projects. Come up with an idea, vote for your favourites and make your community an even better place to live.
Background
Beginning in May 2018, Victorians aged 16 and over will have the opportunity to submit an idea online. Residents are encouraged to come up with a great idea to make life in their community even better, and identify an eligible local organisation to sponsor their idea, such as a community group, school or local council before submitting.
Eligible ideas will be put forward for community voting. During voting, applicants will work with their networks and encourage their community to vote for their project.
Winning projects will be announced in September 2018.
Funding
Projects can cost anything from $20,000 to $200,000.
Funding will be distributed across Victoria to ensure all parts of the state have the opportunity to secure a range of winning projects.
Eligible Projects
Victorian residents will be encouraged to submit ideas for any projects that could benefit their community. This could include small infrastructure projects, or programs to strengthen community cohesion.
Projects could include sport and recreation activities, improving health and wellbeing, innovation, arts and culture, and ideas that improve community and bring people together.
More information about project categories will be available in May 2018.
Eligible Applicants
The initiative is open to all Victorian residents, aged 16 and over. For participants under 18, guardian approval will be required.
Private, for-profit, businesses/organisations are not eligible to receive funding.
Timing
Applications close 24 June 2018.

Media Release
Communities across Victoria have responded overwhelmingly to Pick My Project, putting forward more than 2000 project ideas to the Andrews Labor Government’s community grants initiative.
Victorians will soon be able to have their say, with voting for projects across the state to open on Monday 13 August 2018.
Victorians can help make their favourite project ideas a reality by voting for the top three eligible projects in their local community.
Project ideas with the most votes will share in the $30 million funding, with between $20,000 and $200,000 available for each project idea.
The $30 million in funding has been divided between the six metropolitan and nine regional partnership areas, with each to receive at least $1 million for project ideas in their area.
Details about the voting process will be available ahead of voting on Monday.
