Up to $2,500 is available from RCCF to protect the rural, regional and remote communities across South Australia from the impact of disasters.
Regional Capability Community Fund (RCCF)
The Regional Capability Community Fund (RCCF) supports rural, regional and remote communities across South Australia to better protect themselves from the impact of disasters such as extreme weather, fire and flood.
In 2017, $470,000 will be made available for South Australians to support the purchase of items that enhance community capability to respond to, and reduce the impacts of emergencies.
Applicants can apply for up to half of the GST exclusive cost of items, up to a maximum of $2,500.
Co-funding is available towards the purchase of equipment or goods that enhance community capability to respond to, and reduce the impacts of emergencies that occur in rural, regional and remote communities.
Proposed items must:
- be new, not second-hand
- be fit for purpose
- demonstrate value for money.
Examples of what may be funded are:
Water storage tanks and transfer pumps
- Large water storage tanks with Country Fire Service compatible fittings
- High volume water transfer pumps – fixed and portable.
Private farm fire units (PFFU)
- PFFU – vehicle mounted
- PFFU safety railings.
Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Fire blankets
- First aid kits
- Personal protective clothing.
Flood, extreme weather and other emergency equipment
- Amber rotating lights
- Flood operations pumps
- Sand bagging machines
- UHF radio – vehicle mounted
- Backup power supply where broad community benefit can be demonstrated.
Individuals, businesses, community groups, not for profit organisations and local government can apply.
Only one application per physical property address, individual or organisation will be considered. RCCF applicants are encourage to get a quote from their local region to support the local community.
