Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program

Round 2 is now open! Queensland manufacturers can apply for up to $1.5 million in matched funding. Applications close 25 November 2026.

What is the Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program?

The Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program (TQMGP) provides matched funding of $100,000 to $1.5 million to help Queensland manufacturers invest in advanced equipment, technology and systems that improve productivity, capability and competitiveness.

The program funds technologies that:

  • ⚙️ Advanced manufacturing equipment and automation
🤖 Robotics and new production technologies
💻 ERP, MRP and Manufacturing Execution Systems
📈 Projects that increase productivity, capacity or output
🔗 Technology that improves integration across manufacturing systems

The Queensland Government has committed $79.1 million over three years, delivered through six competitive funding rounds.

Round 2 has $12.5 million available and closes 25 November 2026. Applicants generally need to contribute at least 50% of eligible project costs.

This is a competitive grant!

Round 1 attracted 119 applications, with only 18 manufacturers funded.

A strong application needs to do more than explain what equipment you want to buy. It needs to clearly show how the project transforms the business, what measurable outcomes it will deliver and why government funding should support it.

We help manufacturers test the project first, then build the application around the assessment criteria.

We know how to align your project with what assessors actually want.

We build applications that win

Most applications fail because they miss what assessors actually want.

Round 1 received 119 applications and only 18 manufacturers were funded.

Eligibility gets you into the competition.

Your application still needs to outperform the other eligible projects.

What Projects Are Eligible for the Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program?

To be competitive for the Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program, your project needs to do more than simply replace old equipment.

The program is designed to support projects that transform manufacturing capability, productivity and competitiveness through advanced equipment, technology and systems

✅ Eligible projects can include:

⚙️ Advanced manufacturing equipment
Including robotics, automation and Industry 4.0 / 5.0 technologies.

💻 Manufacturing software and systems
Including ERP, MRP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) that improve integration and manufacturing processes.

🏭 Productivity and capacity improvements
Projects that materially improve production efficiency, throughput or competitiveness.

🌏 Reshoring or onshoring manufacturing
Bringing manufacturing activity currently undertaken interstate or overseas back to Queensland.

📦 Projects supporting export growth
Investment that creates a pathway to new or expanded export opportunities.

👷 Investment that supports growth and jobs
Projects that stimulate private-sector investment and generate employment.

⚠️ Simply buying new machinery isn’t enough

The program specifically excludes like-for-like replacements and equipment, systems or processes that are not considered industry-leading. R&D activities themselves are also excluded project costs.

⚠️ A good piece of equipment doesn’t automatically make a good grant project. The transformation it enables is what matters.

Why Bulletpoint Clients Win More Grants

We don’t just write applications. We build them to score.

✅ We work backwards from the assessment criteria – Every section is built around what assessors are actually scoring.

✅ We shape the project before we write it – A strong grant application starts with a strong project, not better wording.

✅ We quantify the outcomes – Productivity, capacity, jobs, exports, investment and economic impact need to be clear.

✅ We make the application easy to assess – Clear structure, evidence and direct answers make it easier for assessors to award points.

✅ We’ve helped secure $50M+ in grant funding – Across manufacturing, energy, technology and innovation projects.

Round 1: 119 applications. 18 funded.

Eligibility gets you into the competition.
The application still has to win.

“Ben and Bulletpoint are an amazing team of dedicated and detailed professionals in both the grants space and the R&D tax incentive support space. Could not recommend them highly enough.”

FAQS

How much funding can I apply for?
Eligible manufacturers can apply for $100,000 to $1.5 million in matched funding. Applicants generally need to contribute at least 50% of eligible project costs.

What types of projects are suitable?
Strong projects usually involve a significant improvement in manufacturing capability, such as advanced equipment, automation, robotics, ERP, MRP or MES systems, increased production capacity, productivity improvements or reshoring manufacturing activity.

Can the grant fund new machinery?
Yes, but simply buying a new machine is not enough. The application needs to show what the investment changes about the business — such as increased productivity, capacity, capability, competitiveness, jobs or economic benefit.

How competitive is the grant?
Very. Round 1 received 119 applications and only 18 manufacturers were funded. Meeting the eligibility requirements gets you into the competition, but it does not guarantee funding.

What if we’re not sure whether our project is strong enough?
It is worth testing the project before spending significant time preparing an application. We can review the proposed investment, funding request and expected outcomes against the program criteria and identify obvious weaknesses early.

Can we prepare the application ourselves?
Yes. However, this is a competitive, merit-based grant. The application needs to do more than provide the requested information — it needs to clearly demonstrate why your project deserves funding relative to other eligible projects.

When does Round 2 close?
Round 2 closes on 25 November 2026. For larger projects, it is worth allowing plenty of time for project design, quotations, evidence and application preparation.

❌ What Won’t Make a TQMGP Application Competitive

🚫 “We need to replace an old machine”
🚫 “This equipment is newer and faster”
🚫 “It will save us money”
🚫 “We’ve wanted to automate this process for years”
🚫 “Our competitors already use this technology”
🚫 “It’s a big investment for our business”
🚫 “The supplier says it will improve productivity”

✅ What Actually Strengthens the Application

✔ A clear step-change in manufacturing capability – Show what the business can do after the project that it cannot do now.

✔ Measurable productivity or capacity improvements – Quantify increased output, reduced waste, faster production, lower costs or improved quality.

✔ Advanced technology or manufacturing systems – Explain why the equipment, automation or software materially improves the manufacturing operation.

✔ Strong commercial outcomes – Demonstrate new customers, markets, exports, reshoring opportunities or increased competitiveness.

✔ Jobs and broader economic benefits –Show the employment, investment and Queensland economic outcomes created by the project.

✔ A credible project with evidence behind it – Quotes, financial capacity, implementation planning and realistic measurable outcomes all matter.

The equipment is only part of the story. The application needs to show the transformation it creates.

Real Clients. Real Results. No Buzzwords.

300+ Aussie founders gave us 5 stars ★★★★★ on Google — here’s why.

Still Thinking About Going It Alone?

You absolutely can prepare the application yourself.

The challenge is that the Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program is competitive, and assessors are comparing your project against other eligible manufacturing investments.

A strong application needs to clearly show:

  • why the project matters
  • what changes as a result
  • how the benefits will be measured
  • why the project represents value for money
  • why government funding should support it

Round 1 received 119 applications and funded 18 manufacturers.

That means eligibility is only the starting point. The project still needs to stand out against the other applications.

We help manufacturers test the project, strengthen the business case and build the application around the assessment criteria.

“Ben and Bulletpoint are an amazing team of dedicated and detailed professionals in both the grants space and the R&D tax incentive support space. Could not recommend them highly enough.”

Winning Strategy for the Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program

A strong Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Grants Program application is not just about describing the equipment you want to buy.

It needs to clearly show how the project transforms your manufacturing operation and why that transformation is worth supporting with government funding.

That means making the case for things like:

  • increased productivity or production capacity
  • improved manufacturing capability
  • automation or advanced manufacturing technology
  • new products, markets or export opportunities
  • reshoring manufacturing activity
  • new jobs and broader economic benefits
  • a credible implementation plan and measurable outcomes

At Bulletpoint, we help manufacturers shape the project around the assessment criteria before the application is written.

We work through the commercial case, expected benefits, evidence, project structure and funding rationale so the application clearly answers the questions assessors are actually scoring.

We’ll also tell you if the project is not competitive enough yet.

That can save a lot of time preparing an application for a project that needs more work.

“Why should this project receive funding ahead of the other eligible projects?”

Think Your Project Is Competitive?

Let’s test it against the TQMGP criteria.

A good manufacturing project is not automatically a strong grant application.

We’ll look at the investment, expected outcomes, funding request and assessment criteria to identify where the project is strong — and where it may need work before you apply.

Round 1 funded 18 of 119 applicants. It’s worth testing the project before committing to the full application.

I reached out to Ben with a completed MVP Ventures grant application two days before the submission deadline, looking for an experienced set of eyes rather than a full rewrite. Ben responded within the hour and turned around a detailed, structured review scoring the application against the actual merit criteria with specific, actionable feedback on each section. The feedback was honest, direct and genuinely useful. Ben identified exactly the right areas to strengthen and gave me clear guidance on how to improve them rather than vague suggestions. He clearly knows this program well and understands what assessors are looking for. For a founder doing this solo under time pressure, that kind of fast, knowledgeable and no-nonsense feedback was exactly what I needed. Highly recommend!

I have found Ben to be very knowledgeable in his field, direct and honest in relation to the process of R&D. Instantly making us feel that we were in the right place for direction and help in this process, and the business model he employs, 15min triage assessment ensures that we are not wasting our time, as he can readily see if we can potentially qualify for the application or not, which we found him to be very frank, and helpful. I would recommend that you give Bulletpoint the opportunity to review and assist with your needs, as Ben was what they advertised, and we look forward to the process and assistance from him and his team.

Bulletpoint is a must-stop shop for anyone thinking of or currently claiming R&D. Not only do they provide guidance on how to do it right first time, which saved us from submitting our own first draft that would have likely resulted in future issues, the ongoing strategic advice is invaluable. It has been a pleasure to work with them over the last two years so far.
