What is the Victoria-Israel Science Innovation and Technology Scheme?
The Victoria-Israel Science Innovation and Technology Scheme (VISITS) is an initiative that provides businesses and organisations with funding to work with Israeli organisations on projects of mutual benefit.
Background
The Victoria-Israel Science Innovation and Technology Scheme helps Victorian and Israeli organisations work together on projects of mutual benefit. It is open to all organisations (private sector and public sector), with interests in areas including (but not limited to) the priority growth sectors of: Food and Fibre; Professional Services; New Energy; Defence, Transport and Construction; Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals, and; International Education.
This scheme is a collaborative effort, with cooperative management from the Victorian Government, the Israel Innovation Authority, the Embassy of Israel, the Australia Israel Chamber of Commerce (AICC) and the Israel Trade Commission.
Funding
The Victoria-Israel Science Innovation and Technology Scheme contains four streams of funding support, including:
- Victoria-Israel Science and Technology Research and Development Fund (VISTECH)
- Victoria-Israel Feasibility and Proof of Concept (VISFPC)
- Victoria-Israel Trade Missions (VISTRADE)
- Victoria-Israel Trade and International partnering (VISTRIP)
Funding available from the scheme includes:
- up to $2,000 reimbursement for accommodation and travel expenses to attend trade missions, conferences, meetings or other events in Israel
- opportunities to attend trade missions in Israel
- up to $50,000 grant funding for innovation projects
- up to $250,000 grant funding for research and development projects
Eligibility
The Victoria-Israel Science Innovation and Technology Scheme (VISITS) is an initiative providing Victorian and Israeli organisations with the opportunity to work collaboratively on projects of mutual benefit. VISITS is open to all organisations (private sector and public sector), with interests in areas including (but not limited to) the priority growth sectors of:
- medical technologies and pharmaceuticals
- new energy technologies
- food and fibre
- transport, defence and construction technologies
- international education
- professional services.
To be eligible, you must:
- be a for-profit entity and have your registered office and principal place of business located in Victoria
- not currently be involved in litigation against the State Government of Victoria
