Voter Information Protection Grants (VIPG)

The Voter Information Protection Grants (VIPG) are for the four major political parties to improve security of their constituent management systems and associated data, including information pertaining to the Electoral Rolls and voter information.

 

Objectives

The Voter Information Protection Grants (VIPG) will run from 13 June 2018 to 31 December 2018.

The objective of the Voter Information Protection grants is for the four major political parties to improve security of their constituent management systems and associated data, including information pertaining to the Electoral Rolls and voter information.

The program will facilitate grants to the four major political parties, the Liberal Party of Australia, The National Party of Australia, the Australian Labor Party, and the Australian Greens.

 

Funding

The Australian Government has made a total of $300,000 available for the Voter Information Protection grants. The arrangement will facilitate grants of up to $75,000 in 2017-18 to the Liberal Party of Australia, The National Party of Australia, the Australian Labor Party, and the Australian Greens.

 

Eligible Projects

You can only spend grant funds on eligible expenditure you have incurred on eligible grant activities or agreed project activities.

Eligible expenditure items may include:

  • Fees for consulting service providers for the design, planning, investigation, implementation and integration of the security controls, mitigation strategies and assessment of security posture.
  • ICT Hardware and Software expenditure required to demonstratively support the implementation of security controls and mitigation strategies.

 

Eligible Applicants

To be eligible you must be one of the following entities:

  • The Liberal Party of Australia
  • The National Party of Australia
  • Australian Labor Party
  • The Australian Greens.

The list of eligible applicants was determined by the Government.

Applications close 31 July 2018.
