Up to $20,000 is available from the Western Australian Industry Participation Strategy (WAIPS) Round to help WA SMEs improve their competitiveness and better prepare them to win State Government supply contracts.
Western Australian Industry Participation Strategy (WAIPS)
The Local Capability Fund – Western Australian Industry Participation Strategy (WAIPS) Round aims to provide small to medium local businesses with the best opportunity to access and win State Government supply contracts.
The WAIPS aims to provide local businesses with full, fair and reasonable opportunity to access and win State Government supply contracts. In particular, it focuses on small and medium sized enterprises, which make up approximately 97% of businesses in Western Australia.
This LCF round will focus on competitive SMEs in Western Australia who are seeking to specifically enhance their capabilities, increase their competitiveness and better prepare to participate as suppliers of products, services and works to Western Australian State Government agencies and entities – the market.
Funding of up to $20,000 (excluding GST) is available to cover 50% of eligible costs of purchases or services. This program is a re-imbursement scheme and successful applicants will need to pay for the activity before making a claim for funding.
Funding may be used for the following eligible activities:
- expert consultant services
- improvements to internal business infrastructure and systems
In order to be considered for funding, applicants must detail within the application their engagement with the market, and provide evidence to demonstrate such engagement. The engagement must support the activities the applicant is seeking funding support for.
To be eligible, your business must:
- be solvent
- have been operating for at least three years
- not be a Not for Profit Organisation or Charity
- submit only one application per operating facility
- employ up to 200 people.
